The first step is to complete your application to Salem State!
Send your official high school transcript(s) through the first marking period of your senior year, and again after your senior year is complete.
Salem State University is a test-optional institution. We focus our admission decisions on a student’s academic work and grade point average (GPA), which research has shown are better predictors of academic success.
Students who wish to submit their test scores (SAT/ACT) are encouraged to do so in addition to their required admissions materials (application and transcript). Salem State's school code is 3522.
We generally advise students with a 2.5 GPA or lower to voluntarily submit additional application supporting materials, including:
